Delgani’s String Quartet Academy is an all-inclusive, weeklong immersive chamber music experience. Participants rehearse and perform quartets and play in the camp-wide string orchestra. Students also have daily masterclasses and extracurricular courses in theory and history all while working closely with Delgani musicians.

Our 2024 Academy will be hosted by the University of Portland. Students can elect to stay in the dormitories on campus or commute.

WHO: Intermediate to advanced violinists, violists, and cellists in middle school, high school, or university

WHEN: Sunday July 14 to Saturday July 20

WHERE: University of Portland, 5000 N Willamette Blvd, Portland OR 97203

TUITION: $1250 includes room and board on campus; $850 commuters *

PRACTICAL DETAILS:

  • For those staying on campus, housing is for six nights, Sunday through Friday. Meals are included beginning with breakfast on Monday and ending with breakfast on Saturday. We ask everyone to please eat dinner before arriving on Sunday evening.

  • Commuters will have the option to add a meal plan when tuition is due

  • A performance for family and friends will take place late Saturday morning

  • Application deadline is May 5

* Need-based financial aid is available. Thanks to strong donor support, we have been able to meet every need since our first camp in 2016.

Application fee of $30 will be applied to your tuition

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Delgani’s String Quartet Academy. In addition to introducing me to some of the staples in the chamber music repertoire, the Academy cultivated a wonderful sense of community and enjoyment among all my peers.
