We will discuss his life and his three string quartets, all written in the summer of 1842 amid an outpouring of creativity known as Schumann's "Year of Chamber Music." These works are wonderful, lesser-known gems of the Romantic string quartet repertoire. Delgani performs Quartet No. 1 on the upcoming season concert, The Heart of Invention.
