On September 1 and 2, the Delgani String Quartet will join forces with local Americana band, the Western Tanagers, in a set of benefit concerts for CAHOOTS White Bird Clinic, a mobile crisis response servicing Eugene and Springfield. The program will feature both bands separately and together in folk-inspired classical repertoire by Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, and Sergei Prokofiev and well-known Americana tunes.

The Western Tanagers are an improvisational, toe-tappin’, back porch Americana band performing a variety of styles including bluegrass, cajun, blues, and country, among others. The Western Tanagers include Alan Phillips on plectrum guitar, Sam Jones on fiddle and guitar, John Hicks on guitar, fiddle, mandocello, and marimba, Jim Dotson on five-string banjo and guitar, and Scoop McGuire on bass.

Tickets for each of the two performances are available at the venues. Advanced purchase is required for September 2 at MarshAnne Landing because food and wine will be included.
